- As for the Tree of Life thing, I’m not going to disagree with you. A lot of people were upset about that one.
- Okay, I really need to see both The Help and The Iron Lady now to make my decision. I will say what I heard others saying before the Oscars, which is that had any other actress besides someone with Meryl’s reputation given the performance she gave in The Iron Lady, she’d be a shoe-in for Best Actress. I’m not saying she deserved it more than Viola Davis (because she almost definitely didn’t), I’m just saying that she probably did something with her performance that was enough to move the Oscar voters (who are annoying and biased, anyway). But I know it was a tough category this year because Glenn Close gave a truly astonishing performance in Albert Nobbs…I mean, she was UNBELIEVABLE. Really and truly UNBELIEVABLE. (I’m not saying that she deserved to win, not at all, just that it shows how incredible the other performances must’ve been, that she wasn’t considered to be in the running)
